Ethereum reached $1,000 on multiple major exchanges for the first time ever since its ICO back in 2015.

This is an all-time high for the digital asset. The total market capitalization of Ether is currently at $100.9 billion.

Despite this and the result of a multiple-day rally, Ripple overtook Ethereum as second biggest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. Ripple has been up over 1,300% over the last month.

One Ether was worth between around $300 for the most of fall and climbed up to $700 and $800 during the end of the year. Ethereum had soard over 9,000% since the beginning of the year.
